| LATE ABORTION / FEMALE PHYSICIAN Dr. Allen did her residency in OB/GYN where she was formally trained in providing abortion services, including late second trimester abortions. She has been providing abortion services for well over ten years and continues to be committed to making sure a woman’s abortion procedure is as safe and comfortable as possible. Dr. Allen has a true understanding of how difficult the decision to have an abortion is and how frightening the process can be. She, as well as her staff, are nonjudgmental, supportive and caring.. They are all concerned with addressing the emotional as well as the physical aspects of the abortion procedure. The office environment is calming and provides privacy without the presence of protesters and large groups of patients waiting for long periods of time to be seen and treated individually. Our office welcomes individuals from surrounding states and will try to take into consideration the driving equation. If you know, or think you may be in your 2nd trimester (12wks +), Dr. Allen has had extensive experience in treating later term abortions, up to 18.3 weeks. These procedures can be taken care of in one day. Because of the safety considerations, special cervical preparations are utilized. These preparations can take some time. Plan to be here about 3 hours, so prepare for a bit of a wait. Also, arrive early, have a responsible driver with you and eat only a very light breakfast with minimal fluids. Conscious I.V. sedation will be included for your comfort. During your wait, our staff will do our best to minimize anxiety and make your day and experience comfortable. |
